Brussels, I hope you’re all staying healthy?!
The sudden drop in temperatures definitely took its toll on me, and I’m writing this issue wrapped in a fluffy hoodie covered with baby Groot, sneezing like crazy and with tissues by my side.
If you have checked the newsletter website in the past few weeks, you’d have noticed it’s got a brand-new landing page. I worked with an agency called Tigre Rossa on the design, and I honestly can’t recommend them enough. Alisa and her team first delivered a wide array of options, followed up regularly, and demonstrated a very high level of professionalism. If you’re looking for a graphic design agency, you should seriously consider them :)
As for my recent café and restaurant finds, Luce is a small neighbourhood bakery and café, located close to Ambiorix. Their coffee is supplied by Wide Awake, so you know it’s good. Bleu, on the other hand, is a larger space, which includes a big terrace, and serves brunch, lunch, and all kinds of cold and hot drinks.
And last but not least, today’s newsletter partner is Wispr Flow. I haven’t used the tool myself yet, but have heard great reviews from multiple sources. And it seems like the perfect fit for you, busy Bubble professionals, who want to make sense in their written conversations, sound a bit more sophisticated (without the typical AI slop), and avoid typos. All you need to do is record your voice. More information below 👇

9 vegan places in Brussels
This segment is brought to you by one of my subscribers, Carissa, who is really passionate about discovering new plant-based establishments. I’ll leave it to her :)
Hi there! I’m Carissa, and I’m a certified plant-based food lover. When my fiancé and I moved to Brussels a couple of years ago, we made it our mission to map out the most delicious vegan eats across the city. Whether you’re fully plant-based or just looking for a few more meat-free Mondays, I have the perfect list for you!
Tabi Loo (Matongé) - This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Brussels, and I cannot recommend it enough! Originally based in Leuven, Tabi Loo made its Brussels debut this spring near Porte de Namur. The owner, Jérôme, has cultivated the most lovely menu of bowls, burgers, side dishes, and desserts (and it’s been approved by every meat-eater I’ve taken!). Definitely add this one to your list to try!
Kitsune Burgers (city centre) - Kitsune has some of the most unique burgers I’ve ever had! They combine Korean flavors with a fully vegan menu, and it is absolutely delicious. They also have the best soft serve vanilla ice cream I’ve had, so bonus points if you’re looking for a cold sweet treat in the city center :)
Le Botaniste (Schuman) - This one is for all of you in the Brussels bubble who want a quick, healthy, and delicious lunch near the Schuman roundabout!
Nöje (Merode) - I actually found out about Nöje through this newsletter months ago (thanks Andrea!), and I’m so glad I did! They have the best pain au chocolat I’ve tried, and also a nice brunch!
Fries and More (city centre): Did you know Belgian fries usually aren’t vegan or even vegetarian? This is because beef tallow is typically used for the frying oil. Luckily for you, there are so many places that use vegetable oil instead, and Fries and More just so happens to be my favorite (and they have a fully vegetarian and mostly vegan menu!). They also have the best waffle I’ve had in this city, and there’s a vegetarian/vegan Indian restaurant next door (Pure Veg India) that also has different locations throughout Brussels.
Have a Roll (Bailli) - As the weather gets colder, it’s the perfect time for a nice cozy treat, and Have a Roll truly has the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had the pleasure of trying. You can opt for a standard roll or also rolls with different flavors/toppings (including two different flavors every month).
Oui Oui (Parvis Saint Gilles) - I cannot say enough good things about Oui Oui! Their ice cream is so delicious, and you would never guess it’s fully plant-based. If you’re vegan or dairy-free, you probably understand the struggle of only having the same few fruity sorbet options available. Luckily, Oui Oui has the best mix of standard flavors (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, etc.), while also having the most unique flavors I’ve ever seen (white peach, watermelon, bissap, and more).
Succulente (Parc Astrid) - Succulente is my favorite place for pastries in Brussels! It’s a bit further outside the city center, but it is 100% worth a trip there. My tip is to get there as early as you can to have a wider selection of pastries available :)
I hope you found this list helpful! If you’re interested in more resources on veganism in Brussels, Vegan Brussels has a big map of options available and lots of resources on their website!

5 meal delivery services in Brussels
Thanks a lot to Carissa, once again, for her vegan overview! But I understand that you may not always be keen to go out or even have enough time to do your groceries (I really need Lidl to be open on Sundays). So, I thought we could look into meal delivery services. And I don’t mean the likes of Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Takeaway, or even HelloFresh. But deliveries where you already have all your meals ready for just a few portions or an entire week. Disclaimer: I haven’t tried any of these yet, but they’ve been on my list for a long time.
Crowd Cooks - you can choose from 4 to 14 portions per week, and the menu includes vegetarian and kids-friendly meals. Each meal has more than 450g and lasts up to 5 days in the fridge. Their chefs cook with fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients.
Factor_ - Each week brings you 27 meals, which are developed by dietitians, to choose from. The options will cater to those who follow keto, protein-rich, or calorie-smart diets, and can satisfy even the biggest gourmands with their chef’s choice option.
Tanto. - Unlike Factor_, Tanto offers you 8 meals each week, cooked by chefs Jonathan and Brice in Auderghem. The meals are cooked on Saturday, delivered to you on Sunday and Monday, and take only three minutes to reheat in the microwave. They last 7-10 days in your fridge and weigh around 500g.
Solid Stash - I actually hadn’t heard about this one until I did research for this newsletter. As the name might suggest, this service actually focuses on freshly frozen meals (artisanal with real ingredients) that can last up to 6 months in your fridge. They’re not subscription-based, offer 25+ meals a week, and offer deliveries four times a week.
Foodbag - OK, so this service is actually a Belgian alternative to HelloFresh, and therefore requires you to cook your meals based on the menu and ingredients you choose. You have the option to choose from 40 meals, and you may opt for collecting your items directly (but delivery is also still an option).
